Many people do this mistake in Lord Shiva’s Monday puja
For Bhakti many worship traditions and practice different ways of worshiping. But many devotees immersed in faith are not aware of the scriptures and therefore commit small-small mistakes whileworshipping.The same thing is seen while people worship Lord Shiva on Mondays. Though Lord Shiva gets pleased easily and fulfill people’s desire easily, still Shiva’s devotees should be careful in following the proper rituals while doing Shiv Pujaon Monday.Offering Bilvapatra in Shiva Puja is extremely important as it frees people from their sins and gives them worldly pleasures and happiness. Offering Bilvapatra should never be missed on Shiva puja done on Mondays.
According to Shastras there are some important things related to Shiv Puja and offering Bilvapatra. As per Hindu calendar these are auspicious days for Shiv and Ganesh Puja. Lord Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and therefore onthese days Bilvapatra should not be broken and save oneself from the dosha of Shiv Puja.According to the scriptures, Bilvapatra should notbe broken on these dates or days -- Chaturthi- Ashtami- Navami- Chaturdasi- New Moon (Amavasya)- Sankranti- Monday (Somvar)In case of no Bilvapatra, these measures should be kept in mind during Shiva puja –Because Bilvapatra is an important part of Shiv Puja therefore these should be offered to the God after being washed with water.
